So sorry to hear that. I know how hard it is for the whole family as we lost our 14 year old dog on July 5. So happy for all of you that Sam is in his last round of chemo. I had no idea!! I am just now checking in here, and saw this. And now I am a crying mess! We tell ourselves that they are just pets...but I know deep down that they are like one of the kids! I SO wish dogs had a longer lifespan! Our "baby" is 5 1/2 now...and I am dreading the day we have to make a decision like this!! Champ sounds like he was an AWESOME family member! I told him it wasn't but...really I should have told him it was because to Champ being with boys was heaven. We will miss Champ a great deal.
