Freckles the Hamster!

Freckles joined us toward the end of summer much to our delight! (Are you sensing some sarcasm here??) She is a Russian Dwarf Hamster. Who knew there were so many varieties?
Freckles is actually a very sweet hamster and a very fast one at that!

So fast in fact, that when we heard our local PetCo was having an official Hamster Race, we signed up Freckles to participate! Little did we know, Hamster Races are serious business at PetCo-complete with different heats, great prizes and a bullhorn!
The rules for the race are very simple. Each hamster races in his or her own exercise ball and the first one to make it down the end of the track wins his or her heat. Once your hamster begins racing, you may not touch the ball, even if your hamster decides to turn around and go back to the start line. (Which Freckles did a few times!) The winners of each heat then race in the finale to determine the final winner.
Freckles didn’t win the hamster race but her “cousin” Stuart did! Sam’s second cousin Luke’s hamster won the entire race and brought home the ultimate trophy…a three tiered hamster condo! Way to go Stuart!

HI, Sam! I LOVE your hamster, Freckles! I had 3 hamsters (one at a time) while I was growing up and they were great furry friends. Freckles is a very cute one! If you ever want to bring him in to class to share, that would be really cool! See you soon! ~ Mrs. McKinney ; )
Hey we have a friend Freckles might want to meet Peyton! Maybe Sam & Freckles and David & Peyton can play sometime. So good to hear that Sam is finally feeling some better. I think about you guys all of the time.
Oh Sam, I had 2 hamsters when I was young (maybe you need to hit mom/dad up for a “friend”!) So much fun! Hope your routine is getting back to normal and we miss you!

Just want to let you know that I am praying for Sam and your family. We can only wonder why God has led us down this path with our sweet child. I will pray they get the seizures under control and Sam will start to feel better.
3 years ago on Nov 3 Corin was diagnosed with her brain cancer. We have been in your shoes. I pray these treatments will be successful and rid Sam of this nasty disease.

Welcome to the family Freckles! Your Aunt Darleen had a hampster when we were young. I slept all day and ran in it’s exercize wheel all night and kept us awake! It was a long time ago and the cage was very squeeky! Enjoy your new pal Sam! Looks like he loves you!
