Spring Break!

Well, the Robinson’s had a nice relaxing Spring Break this year with lots of time for rest with a little weekend trip thrown in to …CHICAGO!  Thought you might enjoy a few snapshots from our little trip.

First, we packed up the car with goodies to keep us entertained for the three hour trip.

Once we arrived, we headed straight to the Shedd Aquarium.  Even though it was VERY crowded, we had a great time seeing all of the sea animals and beautiful aquariums.  During our visit, Sam noticed a little girl riding in a wheelchair without any hair and quickly stated, “Look Mom!  She has must have cancer just like me.”  After talking with this family, we learned that Molly, age 9, was suffering from ewing’s sarcoma and was in the middle of chemo and radiation.  We hugged and I marveled at the fact that something so terrible like cancer, can bring total strangers together…hugging, sharing stories, telling each other that we would pray for the others’ family.  It was moving.

A picture of the beautiful Chicago skyline…

Day two took us to the Field Museum, a family favorite.

The Field Museum is quite large and Sam tired quite quickly while touring the exhibits.  Because of this, we had to rent a wheelchair from Guest Services….and it was a little big for him!

Viewing Sue, the T-Rex…

Playing around at the Hershey store…

Getting ready for bed back at our hotel…

Jack and Sam’s $44 room service breakfast…Wow!  Just look at all you get in Chicago for $44!!!!!

And finally, a trip to the mini-Legoland store…

Sam was in great spirits during our trip and did a fantastic job walking around the streets of Chicago.  He had been looking forward to it for weeks and it was wonderful to see his mood lift as the trip approached.  But after three days of seeing the sights, he was ready to go home!

We hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break too!
